Goat Movie Review 2024, The Greatest Of All Time Movie Review

Goat Movie Review 2024 : Living up to the aspirations that are in the title of the film is a tough task for all involved. Superstar Vijay, as he has always been, does not shy away from this challenge. He tries his best to live up to the faith of his fans and succeeds in standing on his own feet at the end of this formula. Coming into this project in a dual role of father and son, Vijay carries The Greatest of All Time on his shoulders, which is difficult at times. He overcomes the obstacles that come in such a highly plotted film, even if he is not consistently successful.

Director and co-writer Venkat Prabhu weaves the film around the semi-retirement leitmotif, which Vijay has used in some of his recent releases (Beast, Leo). The hero comes back into the action after being in the shadows for many years.

Amidst the many dispassionate glimpses of the megastar’s own films and allusions to other Tamil films and songs that place him in the larger perspective of mass cinema history, Goat Movie Review 2024 The Greatest of All Time also contains a hint of Vijay possibly ending his acting career and preparing to enter full-time politics.

MS Gandhi (Vijay), a highly skilled agent of the Special Anti-Terrorism Squad (SATS), is your typical ‘family man’, who hides his occupation from his wife (Sneha). He carries grocery lists while taking action against villains. Parents of a boy (Jeevan), the couple are expecting their second child.

Gandhi’s SATS team consists of Sunil Thyagarajan (Prashanth), Kalyan Sundaram (Prabhudeva), Ajay (Ajmal Ameer) and his boss Nazir (Jayaram). Goat Movie Review 2024 On a work-cation trip to Thailand, an unpleasant incident changes his outlook towards his life and work. 17 years on, Gandhi is now an immigration officer, spending his days stamping passports and taking care of his daughter, who lives with his wife.

The couple are separated. With Gandhi on a work trip to Russia, action and emotional sequences, the first half of the film sets the stage for an interesting interval block, which is supposed to be vigorous, but as expected the factor falls short of catharsis. Goat Movie Review 2024  The second half has plenty of twists, but the climax scene – a fan-pleasing scene during a CSK live match – drags a bit. The story follows a very familiar template, and unfortunately, the narrative is very easy to predict.

The overall length of the film is also a concern. The action sequences are just about average. The face-off scene between the young and the old Vijay is engaging. Goat Movie Review 2024 With a conventional story, director Venkat Prabhu has taken full advantage of Vijay’s trademark charm. With the de-ageing technique, he managed to double it! Vijay, no doubt, is a man, and he has pulled off both roles with ease. Playing a younger boy in the de-ageing version, and adopting the mannerisms scores full marks.

His villainous side is very charming. Vijay is the biggest asset of GOAT. Vijay along with Vijayakanth also gives a ‘political message’ to his fans. Kokila Mohan has done a great job as Rajiv Menon a former SATS officer turned bad boy but her character gets lost between the two Vijays – Thalapathy and Ilaya Thalapathy.

Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Jayaram, Meenakshi Chowdhary add to Vijay’s charm. Yogi Babu and Premji add comic relief, with the former scoring big in the Gandhi-Nehru part. Contrary to the comments we saw after the trailer release, the de-ageing technique has been done very well.

The Greatest of All Time is an attempt to continue Vijay’s streak of box-office successes – nine consecutive blockbusters have made him the most bankable actor in Indian cinema. The film has everything his fans want. It just needed a more original script.

The film covers themes of friendship, loyalty, betrayal, guilt and redemption – and culminates in a long-drawn-out climax in which the actor’s two personalities are pitted against each other. Goat Movie Review 2024 Beyond the parameters of a fictional narrative, one can interpret the clash as a confrontation between a generation and an era that is carrying a burden that blurs the line between good and evil, between a sense of duty and the need for self-preservation and vengeance.

Vijay plays M.S. Gandhi – note that the initials are not M.K., but M.S. The Dhoni resemblance comes to the fore in the film’s climax, which resembles the last over of an Indian Premier League knockout match, played in a packed Chepauk. Gandhi – peace is not his primary weapon but righteousness – leads a quartet of secret agents working for the Special Anti-Terror Squad (SATS), a Chennai-based unit of RAW. He is the MSD of Indian espionage – a great finisher no matter how poorly he starts.

Goat Movie Review 2024

This is true of the film as well. The Greatest of All Time starts with a bang, but loses its footing somewhat in the first half as it tries to strike a balance between the protagonist’s innate ferocity and familial responsibilities. As he himself points out, he has two bosses, one at the workplace, the determined SATS chief Nazir (Jayaram), and the other at home, his wife Anusuya (Sneha). He gets into more trouble because of the second than the first.
