AFCAT Exam Date 2024

The examination will be held on 09, 10 and 11 August 2024 in Computer Based Test mode. It will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions, each worth 3 marks, covering General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numeric Ability and Reasoning, and Military Aptitude.

AFCAT 2 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The aspirants willing to fill the AFCAT 2 2024 Notification must fulfill the eligibility criteria.

For Flying Branch

  • Both Men and Women candidates aged between 20 to 24 are eligible for flying branch.
  • Maximum age limit for candidates holding a CPL (Commercial Pilot License) is 26 years old.

For Ground Duty( Technical / Non- Technical) branches

  • Both Men and  Women candidates aged between 20 to 26 years can apply for Ground duty branch

AFCAT 2024 Syllabus

The Air Force Common Admission Test has a total 100 number of questions asked in the online test. A candidate should be aware of the AFCAT syllabus before applying for the exam form. There are a total of 4 Sections in the AFCAT Exam.

  • English section- Comprehension, cloze test, synonyms and antonyms, idioms and phrases, and error spotting.
  • General Knowledge– Indian History, Polity, Economics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Current Affairs.
  • Reasoning section – Series, Venn diagrams, syllogism, blood relations, non-verbal and verbal reasoning, and military aptitude.
  • Quantitative Aptitude section – Number system, HCF and LCM, time, distance and speed, time and work, ratio and proportion, percentage, average, simple interest and compound interest, and pipes and cistern.

AFCAT 2024 Selection Process

The Indian Air Force will send call letters to all candidates who clear the AFCAT 2 2024 exam which is the first step of the AFCAT selection process, inviting them to appear for the second stage of selection known as AFSB Testing. The AFSB Testing is divided into two stages.

AFSB Testing Stage 1

It includes the Officer Intelligence Rating Test and the Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PP&DT). This stage acts as a screening test, and candidates who do not clear it will not be allowed to proceed to Stage 2.

AFSB Testing Stage 2

It is more comprehensive and involves several tests.

  • After clearing Stage 1, candidates proceed to Psychological Tests, where psychologists administer written assessments to evaluate different psychological traits.
  • Following that, candidates undergo Group Tests, which include both mental and physical tasks to assess them on various criteria.
  • The AFSB Interview is then conducted by an interviewing officer to determine the candidate’s suitability for an Air Force career. Those applying for the Flying Branch must also take the Computerized Pilot Selection System (CPSS) Test.

Medical Test

Once candidates pass the selection stages, they go to a medical exam at either the Institute of Aviation Medicine in Bengaluru or the Air Force Central Medical Establishment (AFCME). After that, a final list is made based on how well they did in the written exam and AFSB interviews. Those who are on this list will get joining letters for their chosen training academies. This is the beginning of their journey in the Indian Air Force.
